Quotes:
"Connel put his hands around Brigid's waist, lifted her off her feet, and twirled her around the cotaage. <<Of course you must wear your new shoes. Nothing would give me greater pleasure than to see you dance in them, and as soon as I can manage it you shall have a new silk gown as well, the same shade of violet as your eyes.>>"

"Every dau she spent with Connel brought some fresh surprise. A clutch of blue flowers with silver veins she'd never seen before, a gold broach inlaid with tiny glowing pearls, a silk chemise that was greener than the darkest leaf in the forest, and a veil of such snowy whiteness it might have been made of dove feathers."

"Come away, maiden fair, to a place so lovely and green. // Come away, maiden fair, stay a night and a day and forever live a dream."

I want to thank Adrienne very much for sending me an e-book copy of her book in exchange for my honest review! Thank you!

I have read this book at the ending of 2012 but did not get the chance to review it until now.

I want to say that it was a really nice book, different from those that I have recently read(which I am soo soo bored with btw!).

Clarke's writing style is really beautiful and lyrical, taking you back to the old days.

The action revolves around seventeen-year old Brigid who dreams of a love that is found only in fairytales. This book is emphasizing a really important thing that is also happening in the real world. Brigid's dream world is also a dangerous one and it also makes her look bad in the eyes of those around her, risking to transform herself into a Willow Woman.

Trying to escape the eyes of the villagers, she accepts to marry Connel, someone who she has known since childhood. But everything takes a sudden turn when Connel dissapears, leaving Brigid with only her thoughts.

His return will come but Brigid sees him as a changed man. Will she turn herself to the faerie man that took her attention or choose Connel after finding out his secret? Having to choose between two men and two worlds makes Brigid's choice even more important, the choice showing the true evolution that she went through.

A really beautifully written book, Clarke created a wonderful world in which problems still exist, bringing into light the fact that the best choices are those done also by mind and discovering the real truth that is hidden in your heart.

This is a really good book for those who love old times and also for those who are tired of reading paranormal books!
